It was difficult, almost impossible, to achieve but we have managed to end the transfer window with no discernible improvement to our defence.
But three months later we're now looking at out of contract players.
So free agents are our only option now. Despondency is building.
Hopefully they won't bother turning up. If we get turned over by Wednesday the atmosphere could become very hostile.
