Isn't it better to aim high, even if you only get part of the way there?

How can you be "truthful" about something which could only ever be an aspirational target? Good to aim high, I'd say. Even if you don't achieve it.

Or as we used to say at work, aim low, avoid disappointment ;)

I agree, don't know why we get involved.

I do.... but if I read you right I agree with you. We should be firmer, be more moral (although that's a problem in power geopolitics sometimes) and tell our so called 'allies' why our position is as it is.

Yes - perhaps we should sanction a couple of the more extreme members of the genocidal Israeli government.

Don't be daft lol, we're talking about politics here.
It reminds me of when Frank Spencer went on that disastrous PR course lol.
And the bloke said "He's not supposed to help you and be honest, he's a public relations officer!".
Well, surely we could say the same about every single politician. :D

Labour and Starmer are doing some good low-level stuff that they're contriving to bury beneath culture war bullshìt and the Israel/Palestine conflict, where they're trying to get votes from right wing morally-bereft arseholes who wouldn't vote for them if the alternative was shooting themselves in the face. And it's thoroughly pissing off all sides. Utter stupidity.

Because it’s impossible not to. It would be ‘nice’ to not be involved and sit back but when 2 regimes like these 2 flex their muscles and more, but let’s be honest it is a powder keg waiting to go off. What do you think would happen if we had a Conservative govt for eg, or even a Reform govt.? I hate war/conflicts so not advocating it anyway, just struggling to see the way out

Stands back in shock!!! However, whatever Starmer does will be fine I guess. He's a hero, a lawyer, his dad was a toolmaker and his mum was a nurse. He also has 'Labour' on his forehead so he must automatically be better than the Tories. Yep, he's on the high ground when it comes to Gaza.

Not sure about being a 'hero'. I like that he's a lawyer, and unlike the other party leaders, he has respect for the rule of law.

I think it's largely due to the circumstances he's inherited, but in style of operation he reminds me more at this stage of Harold Wilson than say, Tony Blair.

Who would be your choice of PM, Mr KCP? (Labour or otherwise)

Firstly it is a matter of record that Iran is cheating the UN weapons inspectors and stockpiling high grade uranium beyond what would be needed for any civilian use.
Secondly it is a theocratic fascist regimes which tortures and murders its own civilians.
Thirdly it runs terrorists organisations such as Hezbollah.
Fourthly it has stated its aim is to wipe Israel off the map.

Lets be clear about this- if Iran builds a nuke it will give it to Hezbollah and they will use it probably on Israel and I support any action taken to stop that from happening. Because I have reasoning skills I also recognise that what Israel did and is doing in Gaza is also wrong- you don’t have to just pick one side.

My simplistic mind asks me, why does Netenyahu scream murder when a few Israeli civilians are killed by Iranian missiles yet goes hell for leather against Gaza civilians killing thousands?

The world would be a better place if they somehow contrived to destroy each other (the regimes, not civilians of course). Unfortunately this is rather wishful thinking.
