    The contestants reply was Hampden Park. The correct answer was Vale Park, the home of
    Port Vale FC. Never heard that before. Absolute tip of a ground.

    My
    Rugby league team Featherstone Rovers were always known as the Colliers but its just Rovers now or Fev.

    We certainly used colliers when I started watching. Mid sixties. Then tykes then reds. Quite like Tarn missen.

    I had a quick look through the old newspaper archives and from the early 20th c to the 1970's Reading were referred to as The Biscuitmen....after Huntley and Palmer, in its day the largest biscuit factory in the world.
