I think someone touched on it in an earlier thread today but apparently they've only got 9 senior players, two of which are goalkeepers. Derby County: Rams appeal to EFL to relax rules on player registration - BBC Sport The reason they can't sign players is because they had to play a load of youngsters against Chorley when the first team and u23s were self isolating last season. Because they have played a senior professional game they are now classed as players of professional standing. Perfect excuse to break the rules for them. Or do we have a modicum of sympathy?
No sympathy but I see the EFL have because they were asked to play the FA Cup game. Weren’t they OBLIGED to play the game? If they are under an embargo for financial reasons how does it help them financially to allow them to sign players? I bet they are allowed to sign them and they pay them more than we pay ours.
But this is Wayne Rooney’s Derby County. They can’t be expected to do that. They must be allowed to sign players.
As we have got rid of the Pigs, Derby are the obvious team to hate, maybe other than WBA / Forest for some of yea.
Yeah I referred to it on another thread, he’s claiming they can’t be competitive. Bet the EFL will cite COVID as reasoning to relax the rules
