Not by me for one. It was totally outta character. He usually loves a Ponty End love in. Just found it strange. Especially from a Wolves boy against the Villa......
I hope he's got the balls to not give a **** what keyboard warriors think, and the brains to realise its a small percentage.
Straight down the tunnel at the end . Doesn't like criticism doesn't Sam . Needs to man up . Nobody dislikes him or wants him to fail or leave but he's been playing poor so people are going to discuss his form . Put the lip back in Sam , you scored , did better when you came on and that's what we all wanted you to do.
Hardly think he's had anything but minimal criticism on social media (we have so many more options upfront this season). He clearly didn't appreciate getting subbed against Reading, and his extra slow walk off was highly unprofessional and selfish under the circumstances. Then we have an un-typical reaction to a goal scored. We have more choices this season and this will naturally create conversation and suggestion. You are a good player who has and does serve the club well. Needs to 'grow up' and look at the bigger picture.
If that is the reason social media then can't say it surprises me. There's plenty that want to right/write him off when he has a less effective game without nderstanding the art of the goalscorer.
No loyalty in football. Sam has backed himself to get a move to a bigger club by leaving for free at the end of the season. Fair play to the lad, but if he has got the face on for taking some stick after some poor performances then thats his problem really. If it keeps him sticking the ball in the net it will do for me.
There is some absolute rubbish thrown at Sam on Facebook. I can't believe some of the venom spouted about him. I'm suspecting that those who shout the loudest are the ones who don't go to the matches. Glad to see him give his all and shut his critics up !
Think people are reading far too much into it. Probably just saw the idiots run on the pitch so halted his celebration Sent from my Kestrel using Tapatalk
not seen that, just shows there's some right pillocks out there, but he (if he has) shouldn't get the hump with all the fans, that's the short way to the exit door is upsetting the majority. The only stuff I've seen about him was people discussing his place in the pecking order amongst the strikers which is fair football discussion really when he's been struggling to find the net and the odd person querying if he was up to Championship standard which is way premature but that's football fans for you.
Could some of the supposed 'fans' actually be supporters of other clubs trying to undermine the confidence and self-belief of some of our players. Or are we just too blunt and out-spoken sometimes? Discuss.
Sam has had massive support from the fans over the last 2 years . I really hope that at the first sign of criticism he hasn't thrown the teddy out . I'd like to know why he was the first down the tunnel at the end of the match though . The other thing I don't like while I'm at it is when Conor goes to take a corner and the fans are applauding him , why doesn't he ever acknowledge them ? And my third gripe of the day is when the players are interviewed , usually just after signing for us , does the interviewer always say "this could be a stepping stone to bigger things , like John Stones or Alfie Mawson " and the players always say " yeah , that would be unbelievable " , or , " that's my aim " just after signing for us from some 4th division club . Shows a lack of respect to the club from both interviewer and player , they should say " I'm not thinking of moving anywhere right now , I'm happy here " .
And he kicked all the water bottles over when he was subbed at Brighton - he really thinks he's billy big bo**ocks when the truth is he will probably end up back at Scunny. Towing to make an impact at Championship level - in my opinion - and I think he's realising that, hence his childish petulant behaviour
It's true though, face on v Reading; face on v Brighton; face on tonight, he's moodier than ar lass on PMT week. Needs to grow up and realise he's not as good as he thinks he is, hence he has no right to start every game and stay on every game when he's doing **** all
I'd hate to think he's thrown the teddy out of the pram just because a tiny minority of our fanbase have questioned him like they are entitled to do. I hope it's something trivial like stopping because of the pitch invader or because he's got Villa reletives as a Midlands guy.
I'd like him to stop acting like a spoilt brat and accept that he's part of a very good squad in which he is not the star performer
I think you are being harsh and unfair. I'd imagine that reaction is one based on his own frustration with himself rather than being subbed.
