    Cases like this do huge damage to legitimate abuse victims. There should be big sentences for this IMO.

    Couple of things spring to mind on this
    Firstly : is it a society issue that people and more often that not seem willing to deliberately use themselves to gain material wealth.
    She clearly set out to to sleep with him to ‘get what she could’.
    Secondly: He should have refused the settlement agreement and seen it through.
    Thirdly: People in this scenario should have the book thrown at them as they cause so much damage.

    Sounds like the law worked as it should in this case which is good. There is the law involving blackmail so that could always be pursued but it seems as though he is happy to leave things as they are?
    He very clearly knew he had not behaved in the way she alleged and therefore had no intention of giving in to demands of money. A lot of cases are settled though, do you think these are as clear cut as this case?
