BBC report say it's because he made misleading statements about porn being on his computer when it was first discovered, thus breaching the Ministerial code i.e lying.
It’s more than that. He also made unwanted advances. If lying was a sackable offence not many ministers would still be standing.
If you have your own computer at work and porn is found on it and you don't get sacked I'd love to know the name of the company. By the way, the biggest worry is if you can actually access porn from the Westminster intranet, I can't believe any organisation with more than 20 employees and an IT dept doesn't just block all porn sites- utterly ridiculous.
I work for the MOD and I can’t even get on FB or Twitter never mind porn. The fact that MPs can astounds me and I would like to know what system they use that allows them to do so.
But if you did have access to twitter, Instagram, Flickr etc. which a lot of companies allow, then you have access to porn. You don’t need to go to a dedicated ‘porn site’ which you’d expect should be blocked and flagged. May have been watching adult dvds or looking at pics on a memory stick. Should be disabled by often aren’t. Was it even a desktop PC? What if it was a laptop that was taken home each night. Our company switched to laptops and docking stations years ago. You’d be surprised at the lengths some people will go, to get around a companies usage policy. And I work in IT Just heard on radio that it was back in 2008 when he was found to have porn on his office computer. Things can't have been as locked down back then.
I said exactly the same and was told I didn't know what I was talking about - I can remember internet first being installed in school in 98 and that had filters on back then. I know it's nothing like now where they can pull the browsing history down off your phone if you are connected the network
I’m unclear how he could breach the ministerial code at the point the porn was discovered given he wasn’t a minister at the time!
That makes more sense. I suspect it’s more to do with him groping female journalists/interns and is a convenient peg to hang him on rather than letting that come out. Gives greater power within the Cabinet to Brexit extremists so a necessary but bad thing imo.
Bet there are a lot of the longer servers across all parties seriously sweating now, different times and all that
Interview between Nick Robinson and Jeremy Hunt on 'Today' suggests there were other harassment complaints against him in the background.
Hasn't things changed when I 1st started work in the early 60's all there was what we called lovely person* books and it was rare to see one, and then it was only 1/2 naked woman.
But if you lied to your employer saying it wasn’t you and you’d been unapropriately approaching some of the employers customers and supporters what then?
