    I was always one of his fans, but went off him a bit for a while.
    Our local heritage society put up a blue plaque to his friend Mike Hawthorn, the society though it would be nice for Stirling to unveil it....unfortunately he wanted (if I remember rightly) 8 thousand quid to do it.
    With hindsight, the inquiry may not have gone further than his agent.
