Winny used to get shoved up front regularly in times of desparation as I recall. Those were the days when you only had one sub. Did he once do something daft like score a hat trick?

Yup, in the 1968/69 season at home to Champions-elect Watford in the old Third Division. We were 2-0 down, then moved big Eric up front. Eric masterminded a fantastic comeback by scoring a hat trick and we won the match 3-2.

John Manning. The only Barnsley player to require a seat so he could rest during his shift.

Paul warhurst wins this hands down.

All though he might have played midfield on his debut when he got sent off!

During our Premiership promotion season, I remember Paul Wilkinson as much for his defensive work at set pieces as for his output up front. Great player.
