that we are in this league by default? We are a League One club who are currently out of our depth in the Championship and it shows. I am starting to believe that we would have benn better of being relegated and using this season to re-group
Last time we were relegated to League One that was certainly true. Relegation in the current climate would have meant the squad being stripped back to the youth team, and possible administration.
Surely a wind up post that? Better in League one? Being in league 1 has zero advantages IMO.. Defence has looked fairly solid in all championship matches so far. Stitched up by the ref IMO against reading, Chelsea makeshift defence and well above our level.
Here here HH. Just finished browsing through the Grove Street matchday magazine for the Luton game. There's a piece in there by Dane talking about the miracle of our survival last season. What he failed to mention, is that we remained in the league due to a points deduction for Wigan and not purely for the number of points we managed to amass during the season.
Were only 3 games in to be fair, I'd like the new manager whoever's comes in to play to our strengths and not play his pals by default. Need a striker asap though and time ticking away.
Not with these owners we haven't one relegation and one relegation but for a business man in Hong Kong
It's actually better than that. Including this season it'll be 33 out of the last 40 seasons at this level or above.
Why do people constantly say by default? Yes technically that is why we stayed up, but on the other hand if Wigan didn't spend money on players and wages what they couldn't afford, then they'd not have that many points. They haven't even paid us for Moore yet and he scored some massive goals for them towards end of last season, so let's stop using it as a battering ram. We're a good side, looked alot better after changing at half time. We know and the management know what we need to bring in and hopefully we do it sooner rather than lately, with Struber still at the helm. Some of our football under him is brilliant, and hopefully we can show it more consistently with a new player or 2.
The management have known what's been needed since the board created the need the day before last summer's transfer window closed. The recruitment team should have been able to fill that need in the January window and in this window with time running out again the haven"t. The closest they've got apparently is with another fruitless attempt to sign a player who clearly doesn't want to be here and appears to be using our interest to get him moves to other teams. Everybody can see what we need the recruitment team need to recruit those players before it's too late.
Regroup.... Jesus. It would have been disastrous if we went down. 75% of the squad would have walked. We would have had the revolving door effect on a scale as we have last god knows how many windows. Conway gets pillocked for the best ever transfer window... Right now this is right up their. Weve lost just 1 player right now. For us that's unbelievable. A small turnaround and a couple of tweaks is all we need. Not another squad overhaul.

When are people going to realise that we are not in this league by default , we ended up on 49 points which was enough to finish 4th bottom , Wigan breached the rules , it was them what faulted , we played within the rules & survived , we are not in this league by default .
