not selling any of our prize assets before close of window is financially viable, but it means we can't bring anyone else in. Would you be happy with that?
Tough question mate, not sure defensively we could cope over the season, but all over areas I would be quite happy if there’s no departures
Yh I'd kind of agree re central defence, we'd have to hope that we've got other youngsters that can step up as well as the others have so far. Perhaps we can get a couple of PL youths on loan for next to no wage contribution.
Would love to keep our players but we have no plan B up front. I’d actually advocate selling Phillips to get in some muscle up top.
Pace over muscle every time in today’s game. The reward for promotion exceeds the value of our most valuable asset so the board have to decide whether they want to be brave or prudent.
It's crazy when you think back to years gone by when teams used to get through seasons with like 16 players or summat. I'd take a smaller quality squad and keep the likes of DKD, Connell, Phillips etc but injuries and depth are always a worry. I'd be honest I'd sacrifice Russell if we could get circa 750k - 1m I like Russell, but I think we could cover his loss if it meNt bringing in 2/3 more to give depth in other areas.
I'd be really tempted, but ultimately I think somebody like Russell is both worth a million or so and too good to be sitting on our bench. Half a million each on a striker and defender would probably give us a more balanced squad.
