The unthinkable happens tomorrow and Robbo does a Winnall and pulls a hamstring a few minutes in?
Who do we replace with ?
Don't shoot me down but I genuinely don't know the position as to loans , can we recall nyatanga tonight ?or is he on loan and that's it

I think the Mawson sale is a good one but I thought the hierarchy would have had a solution in place first especially going into a local derby

Well this is the reason that we need strength in depth, despite the promising early start lessening the apparent need for as many bodies. Putting McDonald/Cowgill in is a problem in itself for me, I'm all for letting players prove themselves but that is a big ask. The same issue would arise should Scowen or Hourihane get injured. Basically no like for like replacement. Five players minimum needed. But the club will know that and they're working on it. It's also difficult to get a ready made replacement for someone who was not certain to go. Imagine saying to Kevin Long, 'Yeah, we want you, because if Alfie goes we'll need you to step in. So can you hang about in case he does or just come anyway and sit on the bench on the off chance'. Wouldn't happen. We probably had to wait until Mawson's departure was all but guarunteed to then pursue a first team quality replacement.

I see what your saying but should we be starting with both Robbo and Alfie and one went off injured the other would still be the Lynch pin however if me Robbo goes off early tomorrow I fear we have no reply whatsoever

Mawson was going to move and Hecky knew it. He will have had a replacement in mind already for the transfer. He will know who he wants and they will be trying already. Meanwhile he will already know what and how the team will adapt. Have faith lads

Long term loans can't be recalled. Nyatanga thankfully will never play for us again.

I think we'll have a very busy week before the window closes, I'm not worried.

In Hecky we trust; I have faith in his judgement and I am determined to enjoy this season, no matter what.

I suspect we will hear some time during tomorrow morning that Long has been signed and will be lining up at 3pm

It's football, just the way it goes.

You put Cowgill on, hopefully he does well if not there's 41 more games.

I remember watching us keep a clean sheet at Forest with Andrai Jones, Wiseman, Cranie & Noble-Lazarus as the back 4.

We've just got to get on with it
