Pleased for him let’s hope they give him the time he will need but somehow can’t see it if they don’t start well next season.

 

A lot of their fans wanted him gone during that wobble they had. He should be getting this side promoted with the quality in it, and he has done, so I agree mate I hope they give him time, even if they start slowly. Got a feeling he might be the first sacked though after all that shenanigans the last time they were in the prem!

 

I think he’ll know that, maybe he’ll just get a ‘ new lucrative contract’ out of it

100%. And we had the chance to get him before we took Arsebagy as Im told he registered interest, what a shame, respect to him auto promotion plus Wembley cup semi, amazing achievement. There's a thread I started somewhere where I said he would show his quality and some posters on here should he choking on humble pie.

 

23 & 26 points in front of Watford & Norwich. 2 sets of players & fans who would’ve said they’d got better players, squads & managers at the start of the season than Sheff Utd. No easy feat going up with 3 games to spare especially with the shambles going off in the background.

 

Shows what might've been if he'd have ben backed properly here. We had a squad who could take anyone on on its day. Instead we reverted to form, Brexitted the team and sold our captain and goalscorer for 2 quid in January, setting us back 10 years. We still haven't recovered properly. You don't see United doing that, even when they've not a pot to p*ss in

 

Watford definitely don't have a better squad than Sheffield united, Norwich probably do (obviously in my opinion). I've said I hope they give him time because he's done his job well, whether or not they finished in top 2 or promoted via playoffs, don't think it would have mattered as long as they went up. I think how poor West Brom, Norwich, Watford have been, and Middlesbrough pre-Carrick, has benefited them & Burnley. But he can only beat what's in front of him & get them up, and he's delivered. Norwich in 11th & watford in 13th is unbelievably poor considering their squad & money spent

 

Massive difference. They have a 25 million quid player up front in Brewster, and then a 20 million quid player at the side of him in McBurnie. Just 2 players. Not even fair to compare

 

But that’s the point. That could’ve easily been Sheff Utd. Chaos in the background, people not been paid, contracts not been able to be renewed. It could’ve easily gone wrong. Just because they’ve got a top 6 side on paper doesn’t mean it’s not a superb achievement getting up.

There’s top sides underachieving every season in that league, it’s a horrendous league to try & get out of.

There’s only Berge & N’Diaye that are what I’d class as comfortably premier league players & N’Diaye was in the reserves just before Hecky took over.

 

Go have a greasy chip butty and a cold shower or get yourselves a wet wipe .
