If they get 21 they’re done. The maximum for ffp is 12 I believe? But an extra 9 is for severe offences. (I could be wrong but I think I read this somehere) even if it’s 12 they’ll only be 4 points in front of us and 1 outside the bottom 3 so could be a well deserved relegation either way for them.
It would certainly improve the prospects of my Wednesday to be relegated bet from the start of the season.
Their form is awful too. Bottom of the form guide for 2020, I think. Even if they get an 8 point deduction, I’d say they’re well and truly in it.
That club is done for. Although they do my nut in but they use to be another working class club but they have let their owners take the identity off them. Sad to see what’s happening to football these days.
Identity got stripped from them as soon as he plastered his name in white letters over their main stand.
I don’t think you lot understand how the EFL work. The decision on the number of points to be deducted is made two games before the end of the Season (3rd week in April). If the Club under scrutiny are safe from relegation: let’s say 20 points clear, they are then deducted 15 points. If they are closer to the relegation zone: let’s say 15 points clear, they are deducted 10. If they are within the relegation dog fight and have a big ground, they are given an additional 3 points and McGeehan gets a three match ban. if you’re not happy with this approach or believe it to be unfair, go and support a ‘bigger’ Club. Hope that’s clear and No need to thank me.
I don’t feel sorry for the club at all, hopefully going to get what they deserve. If that means closing the doors then so be it. I’m sick of trying to have a normal conversation with some of their fans regarding their owner and ticket prices, all I get is “well it’s his money he should spend it on what he wants” or “well to watch a massive club in a massive stadium you have to pay premier league prices” or “you pay big money for quality” so balls to em, getting no sympathy from me. Hope the football league throw the book at them. (Which they won’t)
What I didn’t realise until yesterday is unlike the Premier League, you don’t get more money for the higher you finish, so giving someone a points deduction that doesn’t relegate them is pointless (no pun intended) as it doesn’t penalise them in any shape or form.
Bookies won't pay out if they get relegated after a points deduction if the bet was beforehand. They cover themselves in terms and conditions. Lots of annoyed people not being paid out backing Saracens at 1000/1 to be relegated in the Rugby Union for the same reason. https://www.skysports.com/football/...over-sale-of-hillsborough-to-dejphon-chansiri If found guilty it should be automatic relegation. You shouldn't have a chance to stay in the league if you've cheated.
