That they certainly are and also people like my great grandfather who volunteered before the Pals were formed. He walked to Pontefract barracks to join up as soon as war broke out . I think it’s great that we are commemorating the great sacrifices of the pals and a generation lost and let’s also remember lots of other Barnsley men who heeded the call before and after them who also sacrificed their tomorrows. We will remember them.
