But that defence is still nowhere near good enough. It's a good job they coukdnt hit a barn door or we'd have been going in at half time losing.

Also don't understand why we've resorted back to the keeper tapping it to Anderson in the 6 yards box. Stupid stupid move that outs us straight under pressure.

Attacking play excellent. Defensive play not championship standard.

Can only remember them.having that one chance 1st half where Bowen hit just wide so could have been 1-1 but yes I agree if we are to keep playing halme in the defensive midfield role which he played very well, come january we need a experienced centre half.

We gave ball away in 2nd half and they broke quickly, crossed low and missed a very decent chance.

    I agree entirely with this.

I said during the game that if we keep trying to play it out from the back, wins will be exceedingly rare.

Of course, I'm chuffed we won, but we need to be kicking the 5hit out of the ball. Hammer it as far away as possible, and give the players time to regroup.

It was utterly negligent not to get some proper full-backs in over the summer. That's going to cost us.

Yeah think you read my post wrong mate I was just saying 1st half they had one clear cut chance so we could have gone in 1-1.

I may be remembering it wrong and it was in the second half but I seem to remember one where he fluffed his lines and put it wide and once where the defence opened up completely and someone just missed the target from the edge of the box.

When it was played to Anderson in 6 yard box after a couple of passes it was Diaby who launched it up field, something the keeper could have done initially. Not a good tactic and neither was it under Stendel, cut it out Grrr.

That's the part I don't understand. If you have two ball playing centre backs who have the ability fair enough but when it's two cloggers who can't pass to save their lives it's just suicidal and pointless when they have no better passing ability than the keeper anyway

Desperate for an proper leader back there to keep the back 4 in some sort of shape.

We have no big guy up front, so no-one to challenge for the long ball from the keeper. If this coach gets his own way, and we play to his formula, you are going to have to take some Valium before you go to the matches, because we are going to have to try to play the ball to feet.

But the problem is that the centre back just boots it up the pitch anyway.

In the end, if no-one ahead of the passer gets open, that is undoubtedly true, but at least using a centre back gives us an option, even if that is only a pass back to the keeper or a pass across the box to the other centre back.
