Really poor game. Poor football from both sides. Gives me hope for the Reds this season, I think we could have beaten either of these tonight
Poor football but....... Every player looks 10x physically stronger than us (last year) Pick that side of the game up we'll be right.
Based on what I've seen tonight I've no doubt we could play both these teams off the park football wise and dominate possession but physically we need to be a lot stronger than last season. Also I'm really hoping we see an improvement in our attacking set pieces because last season they were an utter embarrassment!
Yep. We outplayed rubbish like Cardiff, Stoke and Bristol City but lost because of their ability at set pieces and overall physicality. Improve on those areas and we're golden.
The Friday night game before the season starts is always a poor one. It always seems to involve Middlesbrough too come to think of it. They played Luton last season in the first game on the Friday, and Sheffield United a few years ago.
On what I saw, on that form we’d outplay them and look pretty good. I also think we’d waste chances, be outfought physically and lose as many as we win on that basis. Struber will know that though. I still think we’ll have a decent season, lower mid table for me unless a couple more come in.
Middlesboro was poor last season and what I so last night nothing seem to have changed, mid-table at best on last nights game.
