Anyone reckon we’re close to rationing?!

Been over Woodhead and there’s very little in the reservoirs. All the reports are that even with a bit of rain the levels are still dropping.

Potentially next Spring/Summer yes if we dont get some decent rainfall over autum and winter. Fortunaley a good proportion of our water comes from Bore Holes, I was at WInscar a few weeks ago and its the lowest Ive seen it.

Would be nice if yorkshire water could have historically invested some more money in upgrading the network and stopped alot of these leaks. Shareholders have to have their profit though.....Wont someone please think of the shareholders .

Until we renationalise it will always be an issue. But getting a clean govt not in the back pocket of water industry pressure groups seems impossible.

It’s actually a very low proportion that comes from boreholes, Doncaster out to Hull but even then the aquifer is also low ( water table).
The levels were 35% last week I think we are closer to running out than some might think, dropping between 2-3% per week with no significant rain forecast.
