ups and downs and Barnsley FC

This club is wonderful, all the fans should understand this. We have had total misery, we have had total mediocrity and we have had total unbridled bliss... and perhaps all in equal measures too ( well that's the case in my 55 years of following them) We have been in the top flight... the bottom flight... all four tiers in fact. We have had some crushing results and some totally fabulous results. We have played in some real toilets of stadia and also on the very best of the nations stadia...including the National stadiums of both England and Wales.... we have right now an academy that's producing top quality goods... we have a benefactor that's passionate about His club, we have a back room staff that totally want to be here and are doing a bloody good job, which seems to have transmitted to the players who also want to be here too. This also advertises to new player/staff targets the quality brand that is BFC... and it has tipped the balance in our favour when a guy makes his decision which club to go too, and parent clubs when they want to loan out to develop their fledglings too. This can only be good for BFC in the long term.The Oakwell stadium is not perfect but is a dammed sight better than a large amount of stadia in the land. We will go on to have misery in the future, we will go onto have total bliss in the future.... but the main thing is that WE WILL GO ON.... and that's due to the present doctrine and policies that are being upheld at the moment. Right now Our local rivals thumb their noses and say " well they are lucky".... " they have the Stones/Mawson money" they do not have the respect to say that we are now totally well run and looked after, and they all if they are honest envy this fact. If we go down this term I will still hold these views... of course I will have a few moans along the way ... but deep down my love for this club will never die.

well said DT, awesome post, we are run by somebody that cares about the club, its not a foreign playtoy like a lot of teams these days when the playtoy club owners get fed up or have made their money where would that leave them at least we dont have to worry about that and 46 years for me and nothing will change that
