apologies if someone else posted about this - got e-mail purporting to be from TV Licensing saying I owe £3.41 - if not paid in 7 days bill will escalate to £150 and if still not paid bill will be £450. A scam. Evidently when an e-mail is sent from TV Licensing it always says 'no replies acceptable' or similar - if there's what looks like a 'proper' e-mail address to reply to then it's a scam. ------------------------------------

Unfortunately, it's come to light that there are a number of emails purporting to be from TV Licensing in circulation. None of them are genuine TV Licensing emails and all appear to be a phishing scams, designed to defraud the recipient by redirecting them to an imposter site. It’s possible that you may receive different variations of these emails, please delete them. TV Licensing are supporting the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) to help stop scammers. You can now forward any suspicious emails to report@phishing.gov.uk as part of their Suspicious Email Reporting Service and they will investigate. If they are found to link to malicious content, it will be taken down or blocked; helping prevent future victims of crime. Anyone who's entered their details as a result of a fraudulent email should report the fraud to the Action Fraud Helpline via the website actionfraud.police.uk or by calling 0300 123 2040.
