After failing to get Boro into the play offs, it's been announced that Tony Pulis is to leave the Club. I don't think many of us are surprised at that news. Wonder if they will now approach Chris Hughton. ?
Doubt it. Style of play seems to be the biggest factor against Pulis, which is also the prime reason for Brighton sacking Chris Hughton. People want entertainment not a dour and defensive game plan.
I don’t understand this at times, when clubs appoint the likes of Big Sam, Warnock, Paulis Bruce etc. They know exactly what they’re going to get. Football isn’t going to be pretty but you’re going to get plenty of 1-0 wins. Then the club can’t wait to sack these people, they’ll only move onto another big club in a few weeks time. I wish big clubs would go down the route of up and coming Manager’s giving these guys a chance rather than these “has been’s”.
It's going to make me nervous all summer mate that whenever a club starts to look at an up and coming manager (who also plays football like fans want to see) that they will start looking in our direction. As another poster says, some clubs in champ seem 'happy' with names like Pulis and Allardyce etc, and they know if those gaffers actually get to the promised land that they will stand a chance of grinding out results. Seems sad to me that clubs are more inclined to play safe and remain, than they are to give it a go. The Prem needs another Leicester story, and quick, otherwise it is going to be the same 4 teams every year at the top and the rest scrapping it out in a Game of Thrones style for survival and another payday. There can't be any enjoyment in that as a fan.
