    Good point! I just saw the bit where it said "1st half XI" and assumed that meant a different line up for the second half. To be fair, only four subs in a pre-season friendly isn't very many.

    Edit - just seen official site, I was right.

    No issue with academy kids playing. Surprised it is as many with so few first team squad.

    The questions are where are the first team regulars who aren’t in the squad, like the ones I named, plus Moon, Cundy? The absence of Connell, Collins and Williams surely raises eyebrows?

    We knew Russell was with Jamaica and Benson wouldn’t be fit.

    We know Mads is at Luton.

    But what about the rest?

    Who picked the teams?

    First friendly of the season. No manager in place. Not much to read iinto anything as far as I see it. Training exercise & a bit of game time for a few first teamers, with the new captain fantastic on the field. Think Kitch is the best choice of captain, wears his heart on his sleeve.
