Time to stop pretending

We are not play off contenders and need to start looking over our shoulder. The last 3 league games we wouldn't have scored if opposition didn't have a keeper. Take note board if you don't invest in attacking players now we will be in the **** come the end of the season!

 

We deserve to be where we are, mid table. That's a fair reflection of our season so far. Not had the rub of the green in the last few games, whereas it went with us in a few games last year.

 

I know it's stating the obvious, but the ability to score is the key differentiator between teams going somewhere and clubs like ours. Despite the odd lapse we don't ship loads of goals. But we don't score many either.

 

No one has pretended we are compare watfords starting 11 cost to ours. We have teams like millwall making bids for our best players thats what we're up against. Were punching be happy if we finish mistake.

 

The thing is the three teams that just beat us all to nill didn't look much cop themselves. With a bit more quality we could have taken points off them all. Watford and Swansea are only so high up because it's the weakest championship in years.

 

We are where we are because of big Val he's made us competitive beyond our dreams, we just need a better balance up front to take it any further.

 

Nothing can change because quality forwards or midfielders who can get you into the top six will cost us multi million’s of pounds and we won’t and quite rightly in my opinion pay that kind of money.Now don’t get me wrong it’s sodding frustrating constantly watching us fall short in games against the top six but we are just going to have to get use to it a top half finish would be a great achievement this season.

 

The last 3 games have been disappointing but we were saying the bit I've bolded after playing teams in the bottom half last season, where-as this year we have an excellent record against them. I can take losing a bit limply to the top 6 if it means we're strong against teams around and below us.

 

You must be joking, a few weeks ago, some on here had already booked their play off hotels. We are what we are which is mid table to bottom half team.

 

Did anyone really think we were ? I’m just happy where we are

 

We've been playing the higher placed sides recently, which seems to more expose our lack of talent up front. We don't have a valid goal threat.

 

"Some" fans, the forward line is far from.good enough to be play off contenders. Only woodrow would get in another championship side and he is having a poor season.

 

Keep picking up as many points as possible from teams below us to stay in the top half. We're not good enough to beat teams in the top 6. It's frustrating, but I'm alright with it considering where we were last season.

 

I agree but we shouldn't give up trying, maybe a striker on loan or a quality journey man Hendrie type player could be the cheap missing link.

 

We're mid table for goals scored, problem is we don't create enough good chances and thus rely on lots of attempts to convert.

 

That’s probably our only chance of bridging the gap is signing a couple of quality loan players but they normally end up at the promotion chasing clubs.

 

I doubt we’ll finish in the top half to be honest. I think we’ll finish 17th.

We’re in a bit of a false position at the minute as a lot of the teams below us have played fewer games. In fact, we’d actually drop to 15th if the teams below win their games in hand - obviously not guaranteed, but, still.

There’s still a lot to play for and I would like to see us win at least 8 more games this season, however, looking at the fixtures, I’m not so sure we’ll even get that so I’ll hope for 6 and a few draws.

 

And are currently 20th in defence! That stat shocked me as I didn’t think we were that bad.

 

Lack of firepower evident in last three home games. Gotta speculate to accumulate

 

Anderson and helik at times still scare me to death.
