If Cam and Cauley hadn’t been wearing their Persian slippers when shooting today,we could’ve been looking at a handsome win. Although Cauley did redeem himself with the goal. Thought Coventry looked a useful side, but were no doubt boosted with some favourable reffing decisions, and some unbelievable luck with ricochets/rebounds culminating with their second goal.
Dale Tonge said it would be a game for the purists, and to a certain extent it was (for this league). Though it seemed to me that Coventry tended to lump it up front quite often, albeit with a certain purpose. We were more cynical than them tbh.
Thought Coventry came with a good attitude, and they will no doubt think they deserved a point, However, a couple of things went their way today which played a major part of that, our wayward finishing being one of those things.
Honestly thought we played some superb football at times but our lack of composure cost us especially for that 20 minutes after half time when we had them under the cosh. Hopefully Coventry play like that against Sunderland in a couple of weeks time.
We played very well, but we have no killer instict in front of goal, only woodrow. With out the big man we are struggling up there and brown and mcheean have been poor last two games and altho thiam was involved in both goals he winds hell out of me with his lazy style of play. Gunna be tuff but keep the faith .
