Got 42 years, which is far better than predictions being given by experts of around thirty. Well deserved and the years aren't important as he won't even get out then. Anyway how come he wasn't made to face Olivias family in court? I don't understand why he wasn't forced to go and why what he says goes.
If the sentence is overly long - in comparison with similar cases - it could give his lawyers grounds for appeal.
Scumbag deserves some shoe, I don’t get the sentence though it wasn’t a deliberate premeditated act so seems excessive
Apparently there's a hefty £250k price on his head too put up by acquaintances who are a bit nervous he might spill the beans on other drugs murders in order to earn himself extra privileges. He's in for a fun time.
Followed the case quite closely. Apparently earns £3,000 - £5,000 a week dealing cannabis & is against dealing class A drugs. I’d imagine the jury saw straight through them lies!
I just dont get why he could choose not to go to court. Surely he shouldn't get a say in the matter. He says he isn't going, cuff him and drag him there.
The chief witness has recieved more death threats, than any other witness ever in mersey police history for breaking the drugs hierarchies code of honour. Cos she once had a relationship with him. Wtf. He killed an innocent child ffs. Merseyside police have labelled her the bravest witness ever. Cos she said she could never provide an alibi for a child killer. And shopped him. She'll sadly have to watch her back for the rest of her life even with the change of identity and witness protection programme.
Right perhaps i should pay more attention to the details before commenting, i thought he was aiming at another drug dealer and she was in her house and it went through the door.
It's NOT long enough imo he's a coward and knew what he was doing. Obviously didn't know he wasn't going to kill Olivia but he did and they should throw away the key.
Judge's Comment re premeditation "I have considered whether that applies to this case but have concluded it does not because the planning and premeditation was not directed at the child. There is no doubt though that the seriousness of the murder, taken in combination with the other offences, is particularly grave such as to require a lengthy minimum term.'' Had the murder of the child been pre-meditated Cashman would have got a whole life tariff. Think the judge got it right.
While I agree she has done the right thing here let's not forget that's after repeatedly covering for him in the past for drugs offences. She's no angel, just got slightly more morals than the rest of the people she's spent her life hanging around
FindLaw https://www.findlaw.com › criminal Homicide Definition 20 Dec 2021 — If someone planned to kill one person, but accidentally killed someone else, the murder was still intentional and premeditated. Seems that statement contradicts him somewhat.
I have worked with the family of the intended victim - they were always on the path to crime. Doesn't surprise me even ended up where he is
Maybe she is no angel in that respect. But once involved with him she was scared for her own wellbeing. It has been clearly stated if she broke the code. The death sentence would hang over her. As with most petty dealers. Once involved it's very hard to get out of. Being fed drugs and becoming addicted for example turns to dealing to pay for the habit. Not saying it's right but thousands of schoolkids everyday for example. Are being cajoled into trying drugs. Todays addicts. Tomorrows dealers.
