    At many of them you place your order first through a two-way gizmo, then drive on a bit to the pay window, then a bit further to collect your snap. Even without a slow queue, it wouldn't be unusual for the driver behind to place their order before you reach the pay point.

    Not that I'm a regular. I want that understood. :)

    In a similar vein I was once in Helensborough Scotland, We’d had a cracking run ashore and were slightly worse for wear so we headed for the chippy at closing time to get something to soak up the ale

    the young lads behind us were abusing one of my mess mates for having a big head, in fairness he did have a massive noggin but he didn’t take the ribbing all that well

    “how much for everything you’ve got?” He said to the chippy owner, and proceeded to buy over £60 of fish, chips, haggis etc.

    young lads were heartbroken and hungry as the chippy owner shut up shop

    He threw 90% in the skip over the road giggling to himself and hailed a taxi to get back to the ship
