Watched it yesterday Ian. Sports Relief special. Very good. Old football signed by Spurs Cup winning side did very well.
Don't know about Scotland Ian, but Wakefield is like a ghost town. My wife was in the Ridings Shopping Centre early doors to visit Boots. They were out of stock on everything she wanted. Anyone approaching gave each other a wide berth. Reckons people were looking at each other very warily. The scaremongering is certainly having an effect. Depending how long it goes on for, it could be disastrous for business. Reading an article by Rochdale Chairman earlier. He reckons quite a number of Clubs in the lower leagues could enter administration if they can't generate sufficient income through playing their fixtures.
Things very much the same here mate. Last night 6ish I was at a Chinese restaurant and it was very quiet when normally it would be full of shoppers. I fear for a lot of clubs here not surviving although Hamilton Accies chairman on the radio saying his club in a good position as they always run a tight ship. It would be the clubs who over spend and run big overdrafts most at risk of going under. So goodbye Rangers. HaHaHa.
I'm watching The Big Match Revisited on BT Sport this afternoon. The programmes are from the start of the 1974/75 campaign. It was an unusual season, as Carlisle United were in Division 1, with the like of Manchester United & York City playing in Division 2.
I'm currently managing Carlisle Utd on PS3 FIFA 2015. I've just steered them to the Europa League cup final, with a 7-2 thrashing of Man City. Mind you, I can't take all the credit, I have Brad Potts in the side.
Whereas in town it was quite busy last night and even now town has a good number shopping and a few pubs are doing a decent trade.
Papers saying today if league is not completed clubs in Premier will have to give £20 million each back to Sky
I've just watched This is Football on Amazon Prime. Shows how football can help heal in the most terrible of times.
