Some good rules in there. I particularly like the one where a sub must go off at the closest touch line, get rid of that annoying time wasting. Although, I can see it already next season when players are acting dumb and “not knowing” they don’t have to go off at the halfway line, hence wasting more time.
Ref will need a bigger can of squirty cream if he is to have players 4 metres away from those tekkin the drop ball, a circle 4m alway rarnd him.
It is a bit of a disadvantage though the rule about taking quick free kicks. If the ref was going to send a player off but the team take a quick free kick he will only receive a yellow. Ok, the team want to keep some advantage in the attack but most free kicks don't lead to goals so if players always now wait to see what a ref will or will not do, this slows the game down somewhat. Like the sub rule though.
Another one, Not a problem for us, but I’ve heard VAR rules are different in the prem, to the ones in champions league and internationals.... can anyone explain it to me again?
In the Prem, VAR will be used to the benefit of any club based in London or Manchester. Everyone else can **** off.
Not sure you read that one right. If the referee is about to show a yellow or red card but the non-offending team takes a quick free-kick and creates a scoring chance, the official can come back and show the card when the ball goes out of play.
"Also if the offence was going to be a red card for denying an obvious goalscoring opportunity, but the opposition take a quick free-kick, then the player will only be booked because the other team are considered to have restarted their attack."
I thought we were all talking about the quick free kick one? But if I'm talking gibberish, it wouldn't be the first time.
No it's me I'm on the go and not explaining myself properly. So it's only in the instance of denying a clear goal scoring opportunity. You could argue if you play on and score the double jeopardy rule they have for pens comes into play. If you play in and don't score then you could argue it wasn't a goal scoring opportunity. So if a players makes a dangerous tackle or throws a elbow it can still come back for a red. It does seem like it's a lot to keep track of.
Youre not kidding... I've had to read your post three times. Christ knows how I'll follow things on the pitch!
These rule changes only occur when something controversial happens to the top teams. I'm still waiting for the rules to change on the FA (y'know the people supposedly incharge?) to be able to overturn a yellow card into a red upon review. I guess we just have to wait for it to happen to Man Utd
if a player being subbed decides to time waste by heading the longway off if the ref then yellow cards him and he's already on a yellow does it count as a sending off so he cant be subbed as he's sent off ??????
