Various people have been banned over the years.

I'm not in a position to judge. (I once rightly was suspended for 7 days), but on the whole without a few maverick, reactionary posters the board would get a bit dull.

I think it would be a bit dull if people who tend to be pulled to shreds on here for their views got banned, however I suspect many have left due to certain posters also. You can't win either way.

There's having views, and there's intentionally trying to wind people up. I encourage the former massively, but can't be arsed with the latter.

I agree to an extent, but when this, or these Maverick posters construct their posts in such a way, that there are saying you’re too thick to understand and I’m always right. Live by the sword die by the sword or summart

I think if people learned to use the block/ignore feature properly then WUMs can WU to their heart's content without anyone losing any sleep over it.

Or even better just stop replying to them.

If posts had zero replies they'd soon stop. But as long as there's fish in the water biting they'll keep throwing the line in. Let them fish in other threads rather than starting their own on a daily basis.

That's the problem... It's one's perception of WUM. Some people 'accused' of Wind-up-merchantry (new word, look it up) are not WUM's at all I think. They just believe what they believe and because they keep spouting it are referred to as WUMs. Hence, in my opinion we treat every post, as far as possible as an individual item and discuss it's merits. My opinion of course and not trying to wind you up..

On the plus side, you’ll get the cost of your flights back
