    Total fluke

Looked like it sliced off the outside of his boot. Can't really blame Davies, he wasn't out of position and the ball went right in the top corner.

Complete fluke of a goal. Davies can't be blamed but we could have stopped it before the freak cross was put in.

I'd just commented that we'd picked up where we left off in that we weren't closing down instead carrying on admiring the passing and allowing them the freedom of Oakwell.

No blame on Davies not sure what Yiadom was doing though.

It was a very poor goal to concede right from the point of Yiadom heading it away. Not closing down and freedom of Oakwell is a pretty accurate summary.

I don't agree, I'm afraid, about Davies' part in the goal. I was in line with the trajectory of the ball and was confident Davies would get stop it. He just wafted his arm at the ball, in a sweeping motion, instead of trying to tip it over the bar. That was the killer goal. After the way we'd been outplayed in the first half, it was hard to see us having much hope of coming back.

It was a mishit cross and I assume Davies was positioning himself for it and may have been caught wrong-footed. But he should have been covering his near post and was beaten too easily. From where I sat I thought he got a finger on it and it clipped the inside of the near post but as I wasn't expecting any danger from it I wasn't really concentrating as much as when there's a real chance. The TV replay doesn't show how close he was to it but I do think he should have had it covered.

He got more than a finger on it but couldn't keep it out. Pity really, but for that, the game might have been in the balance for the rest of the second half.

The amount of times we've started slowly in second halves this season is shocking

    Re: Total fluke

Fluke goal but Davies was 100% at fault and I dare say he'd admit he was. Nobody should score from that acute an angle. I think he'd tried to read the situation and position himself for the cross but i was bang in line with it and he was beaten at his near post even though it finished in the far corner. It didn't go over his head, he was just way, way out of position through his own fault.
