At 1-0 up and very close to a second goal , I was very pleased with some the improvements made since previous games. The Craig/Connell defensive duo remained disbanded, Humphrys was showing some sublime touches, Yoganathan had just rattled the bar and Russell was a toe end clearance away from getting on the scoresheet. We were very much on the front foot at that moment. When it got messy for me was when Charlton made their substitutions. Clarke immediately took Yoganathan off and brought on Craig. The crowd booed when it was announced that Craig was replacing Humphrys, but the relief was short lived as we just went further back. Did we need to make that immediate reactive change? I don’t think we did. It just seemed to take the wind from our sails in a game we really should have won, rather than chasing a last minute equaliser.
