A man high on drugs and pissed up threatened an ice cream (wo)man in broad daylight in front of children with a ******* samurai sword. Forcing himself into the cab of the van and waving the sword above his head shouting 'i'll slice your head in' has had the full force of the law thrown at him and been given just 2 and half years inside.

Should have been given 5 purely for having a sword in public plus another 5 for threatening someone with it. It's a total joke that he will be out by next Christmas

There are some right scumbags around. He'll only do half of that inside too, but the sad reality is we don't have the prison space to be handing out longer sentences like you suggest.

Read this yesterday, check this knob out mocking the magistrate:

Prisons just a joke anyway , 3 meals a day , no bills to pay , no worries . Just sit there and get wasted all day . Could do with a few months inside myself......

The magistrate should have called him back & increased his sentence because of the contempt & regarding the prison space , its time we invested in some new prisons, built to 21st century spec & with the capacity to reflect on our current population.

Completely agree. I wonder whether it was the maximum he could impose, I'm not sure. Either way it makes a mockery of the courts regardless.

To be honest, I think that this will happen more. All through school, there is little consequence if kids commit such stupid acts. They know this and think it continues into adulthood. When caught, they roll out the “it wasn’t my fault”, “it was only a laugh”, “sorry I didn’t realise” lines... then when no consequence of their actions happens, do it again. Such people have little to no social conscience, or respect for themselves or anyone else.

I see they are saying the lady in question was involved in what is described as a verbal altercation with them, as if that is a justification!!

Back in my grandfather's day if you were caught misbehaving somebody would give you a smack, and then when you got home you'd get another from your dad. There are no repercussions now. These people don't care about getting work, so a police record doesn't bother them. If you stand up to them then they start shouting about you disrespecting them, and like as not stab you or throw acid in your face. We've managed to foster a very nasty society, with no personal accountability. I'd love to see a proper show of force against the little ********.

All about 'my rights' these days, forgetting to mention that with rights come responsibilities. All well and good people going on about the rich and their attitudes to entitlement, but it applies at both ends of the economic spectrum with some - I stress SOME before the Socialists jump down my throat - blaming everyone but themselves and demanding 'this and that' as their 'right' without actually trying to help themselves.
