Forbes, accepted as the most credible aggregator and reporter of wealthy individuals has a real time list of the worlds 2,135 Billionaires. None of our owners are on the list. On a list of the 400 wealthiest Chinese, Chien Lee and family do not appear, the rankings lowest wealth is $840m.
Who said they were billionaires? I often see fans refer to our billionaire owners but where was this claimed and by whom?
Madhukar Parekh has a net wealth of $7.5bn, Indias 16th wealthiest. I'm guessing that's the father of Neerav…. obviously the father has no financial stake in us, but potentially Neerav will be a very wealthy young lad!
All the press releases at the time of acquisition. They were alleged to be the 4th wealthiest consortium in British football with £8.1bn wealth collectively.
Every news source at the time stated he was certainly. PS billionaires are a symptom of a broken system and should not exist, so I’d not be too sad if he wasn’t.
How do you think the press got the impression they were billionaires? Do you think it telling that an alleged group of Billionaires didn't then put the record straight that they may not in fact have that level of wealth?
There's too many people on here keen to blindly defend the owners rather than question their motives and what the future looks like for our club.
Again, can you please tell me where it was claimed that we have a group of billionaire investors. Because I watched their press conference video this weekend, the one marking the start of their tenure, it’s on the club YouTube account and nowhere do they state they are billionaires and none of the many reporters present asked them about their wealth. It seems to boil down to a few articles in poor tabloid papers that refer to Lee as a billionaire, Parekh’s family’s wealth and that’s that. And despite what another poster has just stated, regards blindly supporting the ownership, I’d ask that man to check my post history. I’m very much in the same boat and have been searching myself for a long time, any proof of their supposed wealth. This isn’t blind faith in anything but facts. I like truth and fact. It is not factual to assume. And your post above assumes. You can be as doubtful as I am regards the consortium and their wealth and/or MO. But I have never seen or heard them state that they are billionaires.
No, I'm not. People throwing up valid questions and a select few keen to shoot/play them down. I don't get it. Nothing wrong with questioning motives in this day and age of football with the likes of Bury and Blackpool falling foul on questionable owners.
I think we are now into pretty safe territory that we can dispel any myth that Conway and Lee are billionaires. Agree? No assumption on my part. My first objective was to try and assess whether the ;egal owners are Billionaires or not. I'm content now that there seems no tangible proof that they are. Hopefully you can concur with that.
I'd hope looking at the things he's been supposedly involved in that he should have generated sufficient income to do that. An American millionaire doesn't need to generate that much wealth relatively to earn that title.
Really? https://uk.reuters.com/article/paul...ars-with-u-s-hedge-fund-idINDEE95N0K520130624 I would have thought an ex-banker involved in such deals would be pretty well off. The ones I've experienced in London tend to be. Why do you say that?
When they took over this was said regularly Chien Lee £9 Billion Indian guy £4.5 Billion Rest of directors circa £1Billion Total wealth £14 to £15 Billion. And we have just sacked IMO one of the best managers in the football league because we needed a few (3?) extra players. Summert doesn’t add up.
Ever thought why Mr Conway spends so much time here.. if we are just a tiny part of their huge portfolio.
