OK, this is drivel that I'm writing. And totally off topic. However ... ... is it the end of the old big companies? The power thread and other issues got me thinking. New energy companies are coming and doing a really good job, where your old ones (I might be wrong) seem to be standing still. Turning to banks, I'm currently with Lloyds but things are so slow. Paying a credit card off can take days (though it has come down to hours recently). Then I have a Monzo account and everything is instant. You can do things you can only dream of with Lloyds. Looking at telecoms, the countries leading telecoms company seems to forget to look in the mirror at times (IMHO) when looking for problems. It's always someone else's fault they they are crap. Will City Fibre and altnet providers, as well as the VM02/Sky deal do them in? Netflix and to a letter extent Amazon Prime is all people talk about in television. Will this kill, or try to kill traditional services such as the BBC/ITV/C4? The nonsense I'm trying to get at is, some of these older companies, or national institutes mentioned seem to be stuck in the past, and the new kids on the block are up and running and taking their customer base. Is it the beginning of the end for the once big companies? ... or am I just pissed off that I've been dealing with one of these cretinous companies all day and the best solution I have is to 'check back tomorrow'.
Apart from the fact that quite a few new energy companies have just gone tits up cause mad Vlad Putin's charging more for his Gas than he said he would when they agreed to buy it and more than they charged their customers in advance for it.
