...why are folk still moaning about the prices? Jesus Christ. How long are you at the match? How long can you go without eating? How long can people go without having a PINT/drink ? EAT something at home, pub, local chippie before going into the ground. Its 2 hours max. Avoid refreshments, Get behide lads and go home and enjoy your TEA. Some proper snap from Morrisons, Market etc... and let the MUGS pay the ridiculous prices.
at last some common sense ! the club will soon realise their scran is rubbish and overpriced if nobody buys it....
Correct BUT The club are missing out on maximising an income stream. Good food and ale at resasonable prices means more punters = more revenue. Get a decent social club or a good area in each stand and pull the customers in from the surrounding pubs, snack bars etc. (Sorry local licencees)
Have to disagree with you on the economics. due to the limited purchase window, i.e. the 15 minutes at half time not all punters who want a pie can have a pie, and I often try and sneak a pie just after half time but they are all gone. the club has 15 minutes to sell pies and sells every one at the higher price. lowering the prices would sell marginally fewer pies but cost them much in profit. If it were me i would still charge high prices, but I would make sure the quality was unquestionable.
that isnt true though the only reason that they sell every pie and that they are busy for the whole 15 minutes is that A/. they have no queuing system and as there is no orderly line it takes longer to serve people, B/. the children that are serving us spend 10 minutes per customer with their calculator working out how much change you need and C/. that they only start the day with 10 pies or something stupid like that. Other clubs have better queing systems and more efficient stafff and sell a lot more than we do. Also why arent they open after games? 7,000 fans walk past the refreshment stalls yet it is closed. how thick are they?
And... If the grub and ale were available andofbetter value and quality, many people would come to the ground earlier, bringing more money in
its all related the club seems to think that people go to games to watch football and thats it. anything else is totally unrelated. how wrong can they be? we have TV's in the stands. get the bloody things switched on with sky sports on them before games. other clubs do it and it attracts the fans early, these fans would then buy the reasonably priced pies, buy a drink from the bar and stick a bet on at the betting place. they just accept that fans will drink round tarn before games instead of trying to compete and pull them into the stadium early and its just plain stupid. if they got them in early then maybe we'd sell more merchandise from the club shop in the east lower too.
If it ain't broke...don't fix it..... oh *****, it is broke!!
We need innovative ideas to make the club self sufficient as Gordon wants.
Troubleis, he thinks innovation is putting some photos up,having kids being able to have a photo with a player and putting prices up 10% a year

So what you're saying is It's not just the price of the pies, which my arguement was based on. Simply reducing the price of the pies wouldn't solve the problem. I agree. totally re-organise the place so i feel that the club is a better place to go to before the match rather than the mount, chennels or the sports bar, etc.
It's FAR more than the price of pies... the club should try and attract our money into the club before the matches instead of elsewhere.
A social club would be packed before and probably after games. I bet a brewery would be willing to invest in it...

I think the price and quality of pues etc. isn't just about economibcs... its about looking after the fans rushing from work to a night game - pie would be nice - sort of thing we wouldn't go back to west stand type toilets and thers no brass in that
Right....lol.....gettin on high horse, grub is cráp quality and overpriced with no system for service. I would guess that only 20% of people go for a pie, most are dissapointed, as they have none left. THE SOLUTION IS QUICK AND EASY - Cut down on the time it takes to serve folks, round the pricing off to say £1 or £2, that way the 10 yr old serving you cant take ages working it out, and you only have to get a quid or 2 out f ya pocket. Form an orderly queue barrier, it doesnt have to be fancy just some bars that create lines. Order more pies, if the margin is as high as i think it is, then to chuck some away would only be pennies. But until the queing and paying system is sorted, they will never make money or order more pies just my humble retailer opinion...
