All 2019: get Brexit done. Its disgusting that our country can't make it's own decisions and has to do what Europe does. 2020: this is disgusting. We shouldn't be making our own decisions. We should be doing what Europe does.
If you are referring to the current coronavirus strategy then the majority of people I've seen taking your 2020 position are remainers. Just read some of the posts on here and focus on the responses posted by some of the BBSs most prominent remainers. But the major flaw in your point is that on the UK response to the virus I've found myself agreeing with both remainers and brexiteers. The reaction to our strategy cannot be divided up along the lines of how one voted in the referendum. Quite a strange post even by your standards ST. Unless of course you know the vast majority of brexiteers and have been busy asking them for their opinions. You haven't been in touch with me though.
I don’t think opinions about the strategy being taken by the government is at all related to how people voted in the referendum.
Probably not amongst the general public, I agree. On this forum though it's a heaven sent opportunity for old Boris to be accused of getting something wrong and be slated for it. The original post is quite sad btw. It really does try to engender division at a time when none is needed.
He’s trying to say in the OP though that most remainers agree with Boris’ strategy and most Brexiteers are against it. I don’t believe there’s any correlation, but if there was, surely it’s opposite to what SuperTyke is claiming?
Good luck defining irony to an isolated, flag waving moron with a garage full of bog roll and what appears to be a bit of a cold.. COYR..!!
It's seems he's saying that some Brexiteers agree with how Europe are dealing with the Corona crisis (not all of them though.) And calls it ironic. This is because Brexiteers presumably should automatically always want to do the opposite of anything that Europe does.
The only irony I can see, is that a great proportion of the leave camp, are actually the most vulnerable. & Boris is more than happy to see them die, because it will be good for the economy in his tenure. State pensions, social benefits etc. And little businesses will suffer & go, opening the door for corporate America, who I'm sure will soon find a magical cure/vax and ransom a poorly world. It's not hard to work out. Even for a Barnsley fan..
But all the countries are calling their own strategies as they see fit, there isn’t an edict from the EU that they are all following.
There's no irony there at all Paul....unless you are assuming, like Super Tyke's worthless clickbait seems to suggest, that brexiteers are somehow against protecting the public against a pandemic.
Boris will have no interest in being perceived as the bad guy in this crisis. Any suggestion that he's sacrificing the oldies is ridiculous, not least because it's counter productive to his own interests. He's following the expert advice provided to him. There are those who will always see his every move through the parameters of their own phobias, however.
I have no idea whether the UK strategy is the best one or not. My gut feel is it’s not based on the evidence I’ve seen but I am no expert. There are no good options though as Boris says people are going to die and it’s how best to manage it both short term and the after effects. I am glad I don’t have to make the decisions. I do have a big concern. Why are we not testing people with the symptoms. In order to know if your model is working you need data. We are deliberately not logging it and to me that makes no sense.
Based upon what? Your feelings again. Oh dear. I’m sure you completely missed the irony of you assuming how people think without any basis.
Just a minute owd love this pillock Johnson, the only advice he takes in his with Commings and its **** anyone else is man doesn't care about anything but himself look at all the kids he's brought into the world he'll shag women and then cast them aside he don't even know how many kids he as.(just imagine if that was Corbyn the right-wing press that's made this article Johnson into some sort of god, would go delirious) Wish he took advice before leaving the E.U. before listening to owd frog face Farage and the ERG nutters because we are heading up **** creek without a paddle. Wish hed took advice before putting thousands of pounds of Taxpayers money into a garden bridge in London that never got off the ground. Ther are those who will always see his every move good and for the people and never for himself for them, I feel very sorry that they have been p1llocked to an unbelievable extent.
