the guy is an absolute saint who does not make things up for sh1ts and giggles.

He has done a 6 episode series on the environment that will be aired on prime time tv but episode 6 will only be available on iplayer for fear of a right wing backlash. It features sewage being pumped into our rivers and damaging the environment but the Tories dont want us to see that.

It's not true. That's how it has been spun but it's absolutely not true.

Alastair Fothergill, the director of Silverback Films and the executive producer of Wild Isles, added: “The BBC commissioned a five-part Wild Isles series from us at Silverback Films back in 2017. The RSPB and WWF joined us as co-production partners in 2018.

It was not until the end of 2021 that the two charities commissioned Silverback Films to make a film for them that celebrates the extraordinary work of people fighting to restore nature in Britain and Ireland. The BBC acquired this film for iPlayer at the start of this year.”

You wonder why they don't want to show it on main TV though, it's not like Attenborough programmes aren't popular.

Aye, I read that the other day. Maybe the tories in the BBC will be forced to resign and it will be broadcast. Can but hope.

They didn't commission it and it didn't follow the same production as the original five episodes. They thought it of value, hence they purchased it as extra content for iPlayer, but it won't follow the same format as the original series as the BBC had no hand in it. Is there an argument that it could be broadcast on TV? Yes, of course, and it may well still be, but it certainly hasn't been cancelled. Not for political reasons or any other. The BBC didn't commission it, it's not part of the original series.

The BBC are a lot of things, and I've been very critical of their news and political output over the last few years, but to claim they shy away from conservation issues is demonstrably untrue. They have been doing it longer and better than any other broadcaster in the world.

Didn't Sir Alan sugar criticize a certain labour leader a while ago likening him to Hitler?
So I guess he will be banned too.

Having worked in the industry mate horrifying but not surprising to myself.
Putting Illegal/ harmful effluent into the rivers is a shame on lots of industries. not only the water companies.

There’s always even an environmental edge to Sir Dave’s programming, difference being, it wasn’t aimed so directly at the UK & the current government.
It’s not the same as Garygate, but it is. Silencing (or at least trying to) the dissenting voice is censorship, regardless of the subject..

Starts at 7pm mate. Long awaited ‘Wild Isles’. All about British Isles. The censored episode is the last of 6. I expect a major shake up at BBC, before that.. :)
If it was anywhere else than UK, Tories & their stooges wouldn’t give 2 fcks about environmental criticism.

I just think it's utterly hilarious how everyone has finally caught on that they are the state broadcaster, because of a crisp flogger, three years after it became blatantly obvious to anyone with the most basic critical faculties. I'm glad like. Let's hope there's an appropriate backlash.

Cant wait to watch it, love stuff like that especially with Attenborough, mate. But I thought Jay said it wasn't censored?

Personally, I cant see this nobjock whos caused all this to survive for too long due to said backlash, especially if MOTD do consistently go down. I think the biggest point to all this is when people mention Lord Sugar, or the world cup when Lineker spoke about Human right issues (which was actually during the show), all that was political too... so whats the difference? Its against the tories!
