so can we have a such a thread fr all the political posts.... this site is getting beyond a joke and is no way near a football site anymore.

Honestly I find other forums so frustrating with their really long threads. If I want to find out the ashes score and how we've played its right there rather than trailing through a massive thread titled cricket

 

Can we have one thread for everytime someone complains we should have one thread.

Okay, lets just talk about football.
How about a post about dropping Cauley Woodrow?
Or...if the owners have paid for the club with the club's money.
Or if the West Stand should be open, closed, bulldozed.
Or if we're crap.
Or what the score will be on Saturday.

If there's anything else that's not been covered please let me know.

Otherwise we could continue to make it a forum that has loads of varied stuff that keeps most people interested by discussing all types of topics.
It's the best football forum I've ever come across.

 

The BBS has never been a football site. In its heyday, when it was getting thousands of posts every single day, we could go all week without a single reference to football.

We're in some very weird times. Understandably people are more concerned about other things than they are about football. I'm in a position where I disagree with the vast majority on here about these other things. But this forum gives people an outlet, and that's a good thing. And most of the time I try not to react even though I disagree. And then sometimes I overreact.

I like Cauley Woodrow, I think he's a great player. I also think he's not performing anywhere close to his ability and hasn't been for quite a while, but I don't think it's for a lack of trying. But I don't care. That doesn't matter anywhere near as much as what people are worried about in their lives and what they want to talk about. This isn't a football site, it's a community, and always has been. And this is coming from someone who is a long way removed from that community at the moment, but I still recognise it's important.

Right now, I don’t have that much of a desire to talk about football. We’re a bit rubbish, there’s not much more to say than that at the minute. I do still have a desire to talk to people on here, though. That means I can either post ‘we’re a bit rubbish, aren’t we?’ 10 times a day or I can post about other things. I’m pretty certain you’d get more fed up of the first version, even if you’re not too keen on the second.

 

Very succinctly put Jay, and for what it's worth - and I know I'm in a minority here - I agree with most of the things you say. And although I get into the odd entanglement on here, I believe most posters to be good-hearted and coming from a good place on the whole, even if our views contrast widely.

 

I don't think its surprising that we have such a lot of non-football posts, we are living in times that were pretty well unimaginable a few short years ago. The regular posters on here have views on a wide range of subjects including our football club, the one thing that ties us together.

Personally I'm proud that such a forum exists.

But just how rubbish are we? Say, on a scale of 1 to 10...? Where 1 is "A wee bit rubbish" and 10 is "Absolute f***ing rubbish"?
I'm thinking we might be an 8 ("Bloody Rubbish!") at the moment, but possibly moving towards a 7 ("Mostly Rubbish").
