could all depend on where you live and not who you provider is jedi as to how good your broadband is ,My shop is 200 yards tops from the exchange at shafton and our BB is hit and miss, especially when watching a film,Bt engineers come in our place nearly every day and told me it should make little,if any difference who our provider is,the fact that we havnt got the new fibre cables etc is the reason ours is not so good, where as the bottom of the village, supplied from the same exchange(near on a mile from them) have good BB because they've had the cables upgraded, the nearer we are to the exchange means we will be one of the last to get upgraded, like I say,the BT engineers told us this.

Are you on Virgin cable internet? If so unless you live really close to a fibre cabinet you’ll never get owt like on a BT line

all a bit of a swizz for me. i'm on about 45mbps with BT and can stream 4k content perfectly. not sure i understand why most people need advertised speeds of 100+mbps

My Dad switched us to Vodafone not too long ago to avoid line rental costs. Speeds are good enough for online gaming, streaming etc. Hardly the fastest speeds going but cheaper than other options and good enough for what it sounds like you are needing

Direct Save Telecoms. https://www.directsavetelecom.co.uk/about_us.php. £17.99 a month, free router, no signup fee. £30 cashback if you go through Quidco. I'm in the process of changing from Sky so I can't comment on reliability or speed etc but it's reasonably rated on comparison sites.

The speed you'll get is more dependent on your local infrastructure (distance to exchange etc) than the provider.
