have informed the football league they can effectively police the Sheffield Derby and also keep up their other responsibilities if the match takes place midweek on an evening (ie not a weekend and normal kick off).

Maybe they should visit some other forces around the country and world and ‘benchmark’ to see how others seem to manage policing events and also manage ‘Normal’ operations without provoking a disaster.

not that I give a t*ss about what day of the week either Sheff clubs play or when they play one another, but I don't think SYP should be dictating to EFL when any game should be played.

It's worse than that. This guy is the national head of football policing. That's NATIONAL

This is just a smoke screen for some seriously costly 5hit coming up for SYP - Hillsborough, Orgreave, Rotherham Child Abuse Scandal they're going to have to pay out for.

It’s almost unbelievable. How do the other forces cope in London Birmingham Manchester Liverpool etc. I guess if we go up next season I won’t be going to the games against the Sheffield clubs then. Is this why we play Sunderland on Midweek evenings because they will bring a few more fans?

I'm struggling to keep my mouth shut here. On the one hand why should the ratepayers of south yorkshire who arent the slightest bit interested in football be asked to pay for policing football matches?? On t'other hand they do get Home Office allowances for it and I can't help thinking they are pocketing football money for other stuff, fair do's if that anti-burglary initiatives in cudworth and not a fact finding mission to bermuda for the chief constable. . As ever, a big apology to the lads and lasses on the ground, my criticism is aimed solely at the bosses

That logic doesn’t fly for me. I’m not interested in many things that my rates and taxes are spent on. That’s a very dangerous argument.

Using that logic I shouldn't really pay much in the way of taxes at all.

I have my bin collected once a month
I use a doctor's surgery around once every 5 years
    Never use the hospital
Have never had to call the police in an emergency, have never been a police suspect
Never been involved in any football related violence
I don't spend any oversees aid

I like this new strategy of only paying for what you use or are interested in.

No but the doctors, hospital, police, fire service, etc are all available at a moments notice should you or your family need anyone of them.

I'm very lucky in that respect.
By the way the part about not paying for what I don't use wasn't serious
