They've seen that we're on a spending spree Hoping to disuade us from picking up the phone to their chairman.
I’m saying - if we are to be successful in the Championship then we will need the abilities of such players as McBurnie. Unfortunately we were relegated when he was here. But if we had stayed up - would the club have paid 4 or 5 million for him? I think he’s the best striker in the Championship. So I would have hoped that the owners would have signed him. It also raises the question of loan players. I don’t think we should totally abandon that policy if there is an option to buy. A great player - that because of circumstances slipped through the net.
But we didn't stay up, so what's the point in asking the question? Instead we signed Woodrow, who scored at a rate of 1 in 2. If he replicates that form in the championship, then he'll have his suitors. If we didn't have two players that had scored almost 40 goals between them, I would get your point about mcburnie, but we have so he's irrelevant now. Players come and go. He's gone, was never going to sign for us.
Nudger, change the record. You’ve said all of this so many times before. Not one person on here thinks McBurnie isnt a good player, or that he’d not have been an amazing signing. However the vast majority accept that we had absolutely no prospect whatsoever of being able to sign him last summer. So I have absolutely no idea why you are still going on about him as though they let him ‘slip away’. On what planet would Swansea have sold him to a league one club last summer? They planned to play him. They did play him. You do post some decent stuff but your constant bairning about McBurnie (and Heckingbottom) hides the posts worth reading. Give it a rest bud.
I met Paul FOOOOOOOKING Heckingbottom............ when I was out FOOOOOOOKING dogging in the FOOOOOOOKING............. woods. He FOOOOOOOKING said we should have signed FOOOOOOOKING ........... Kevin de FOOOOOOOKING Bruyne when he was at WolfsFOOOOOOOKINGburg. We could have sold him............ for £1FOOOOOOOKING30million now. Just............ FOOOOOOOKING saying like.
Looking at Mcburnies record, he's great in the championship but pretty unproven in the premier league, so that type of money would be a big gamble. I think his next move will be for a substantial fee and will improve his lifestyle, but should he prove himself at the next stage then a big fee would be involved should he be sold again. - similar to John Stones.
How can we possibly make this any clearer..... There is no earthly way Ollie McBurnie would have signed for us within our wage structure let alone our future prospects compared to other clubs he could choose. No way whatsoever. How is this hard to understand?
In my paper this morning, it says the Blades have upped their offer to £20 million for McBurnie so it looks as though he could well be unveiled as their new signing sometime this during this week. He scored twenty four goals for Swansea last season. As much as I liked the lad when he was with us, I honestly can't see him being prolific in the Premiership.
He'll not sign for them... He'll drop a league and sign for us. Why would you want to play in a higher league? On more money! I know if I was a professional footballer I'd jump at the chance to drop a league and be paid less! Thanks YN!
