Surely Knasmullner, Mahoney and McBurnie must start next week?

According to Soccerway's site, none of our players has contributed more than two assists this season. Contrast that with last season: Hourihane - 11, Watkins - 7, Scowen - 4. It seems to me therefore that Knasmullner and Mahoney have to be given the chance to show that they can do better than our any of our current under-performing midfielders. It's more difficult to draw conclusions about the forward line given that woeful rate of supply. But Tom is goalless in open play since 23 December. His 8 goals this season have come in fewer onfield minutes than his 8 in the whole of last season, but we need a better return - and quickly. For me, Moore needs more opportunities and McBurnie has to be tried. They both at least have some physical presence.

Hecky said that the new players needed time to get used to our style and the Championship. But our current style is slowly dragging us towards relegation. Just 16 games left. The new players need to learn on the job, but in any event need to bring something different. They can only do that on the field. I'm massively supportive still of Hecky, but he needs to trust the players he has brought in. Losing to a poor QPR side with two Premier League club players on the bench is not what we need right now.

I actually agree to some extent. I defiently don't blame Hecky for this mess. And I understand why he didn't throw all these lads in yesterday. But the the fact is we are not winning games. At this point he may as well take the gamble and put the new lads in.
