Well it could have been worse tonight.
Just forget what the other teams are doing and concentrate on our own results.
The Sunderland and Portsmouth fixture in a couple weeks now seems massive.
    We will do it!!!

Absolutely no point worrying about other results anymore. Five wins and we're there I think. It's going to be very difficult and tense but it's still achievable.

My Sis and her husband ( The Mackem) have been staying at ours since Saturday.
He was full of sympathy for me when we watched the results coming in and we'd
lost at Burton and they scored that late winner. Tonight it was my turn to reciprocate
but I have to confess, I had to nip to the bog for a chuckle. Even with their game in hand,
he still remains genuinely convinced that they are going to blow it.!

Considering how many points we've dropped of late, the damage isn't too bad at this point is it?

It's mad this top 6 lark. Despondent at the weekend to buoyant tonight.

Knowing Stendel, he'll have done a little jig tonight at full time.

Let's hope it's more elation on Saturday because things could look so different if result go for us.

By the way I'd bring the clap clap song back as our entrance music in honour of our Daniel.

It's a good result tonight but I'm still unconvinced we remain serious contenders for automatic. If we manage to gain 3-4 points on them over the next couple games then maybe. But it would take a massive slip up from Sunderland at this stage and with our current form it's unlikely we'll win 4-5 of the remaining games. We are also still reliant on Pompey dropping points. I admire the optimism from some but for me I'm pretty much resigned to the play offs.

Yeah I've just posted on another thread that we need to improve, but also pompey play Burton and Sunderland away and Sunderland have Donny and Coventry plus away at Peterborough.

If their forum is anything to go by, their fans are hopefully starting to get on their backs. It goes without saying we've then got to start getting better results than they do. We both have 2 home games coming up and I'm hoping we can gain at least 2 points on them in those.

We haven't won five on the bounce in the league all season. Best we've managed is three twice whilst playing well. What makes people think we'll suddenly win 5 now? Without Moore and Dougall carrying passengers like Brown, Hedges and Mcgeehan and calling upon liabilities like Williams from the bench. Cloud cuckoo.

That's very harsh calling them passengers. However 5 on the bounce is a big ask.

Things become different at the end of the season though

Sheer will and determination may bring 5 wins on the bounce

We now have two very winnable home games. Perhaps we have just had our little blip?

I appreciate we need Portsmouth and Sunderland to slip but the table could look very positive come 5pm on Easter Monday, with two games left and it in our hands. It’s all to play for. The games will catch up on Sunderland, I’m convinced of it.

At least we won't be playing to preserve an unbeaten run and playing to win because it's **** or bust now.

We need to get our form and confidence back.
This is where the boss earns his corn imo.
Sunderland’s result could have been a lot worse for us but reading their forum they missed McGeady very much , don’t know how long he’s gonna be out for and he could be the difference .
Also Pompey coming up on rails and Charlton letting the top teams know they’re still here.
It’s gonna be a bumpy ride next five games so we’d best strap ourselves in and hope the players form comes back quick .

I'm convinced that when there's no pressure, teams play with freedom and no fear. Take Sunderland. They were 2 wins behind us not so long since and played well - suddenly the ball is in their court and they bottle it.

Charlton another example. Guaranteed the playoffs and anything else a bonus so they're playing with freedom. If suddenly the have a chance of automatic then it will all change.

We're the biggest example. However many games unbeaten and moving through the playoffs - suddenly were in touching distance of automatic and we play like spanners.

Whoever keeps their head will go up.

Think you're right mate, the only team that have dealt well with the pressure is Luton. The rest of us have all squandered opportunities to kill the other teams off.

    We’re not playing well.

If we don’t win on Saturday the sh*t inside the ground and on forums like this will be intense.

My hope is the players take renewed heart from last nights result and along with the brilliance that is Stendel, really go at Fleetwood: put them to the sword and take renewed vigour into the final four games.

I agree there could be many more twists to come. But I think unfortunately, we've had our chance and we didn't take it. Hope I'm wrong! Still optimistic of our chances in the play offs mind. Don't buy into this idea that we've played poorly against other top six sides when we've lost 2 out of 10 against them (I think).
