If we are worrying about what Sunderland are doing, we are down. We need Birmingham to get beat regularly.
Respectfully disagree, DB3K. I don't think we're down but with 7 games to go we need to worry about all 3 teams below us. Only 1 needs to put together a few decent results to overhaul us. Sunderland win tonight, as it looks like they're going to, and they're only 3 points behind us. What's not to worry about?
Hard to understand a result like that. Could it be that two shocking teams like Brum and the Mackems are going to escape? What on earth were Derby doing there?
Sunderland were never down and out despite what most fans were saying about them, although Derby have flopped badly for a while now and it sounded like they didnt turn up at all today. At this easter time of the season I always thought they/Sunderland would have more than Burton for example when it came to a scrap to stay up. With Reading also beating a safe mid table QP.Rangers team today, the table looks increasingly depressing for us tonight doesnt it. If Birmingham only draw or lose their next game, then I will be delighted to be out of the drop zone still going into the Notts Florist game.
Can't see us getting a similar result there on the last day of the season! Sunderland will need another 4 wins and maybe a draw or two stay up, surely they aren't going to pull it off!!
Phenomenal result for Sunderland. To be fair though, it has been a matter of time before someone below us started to win, even if it was one game here and there. We've been very fortunate that we have had some awful teams around us this season. But despite their ineptitude, none have been out of sight and all have been within a couple of wins of catching us. I think Burton and Sunderland will drop, but there's every chance both could still catch us, possibly within a fortnight. It's that tight. Even shocking teams can rally a little when needed, especially against the mid-table coasters throughout April. It'll be a fight to the finish.
We have had enough chances to win and haven't taken them. Unfortunately, I think fate, luck, whatever you want to call it, is against us and we are doomed. I wish and hope it isn't so but time is running out.
They were rock bottom. It says a lot about our chances of staying up when we are worried about them. I would prefer all our rivals to lose. But Sunderland, Birmingham and Reading all have good British managers who know this league and the football culture of our country really well.
This shows the whole 'British is best' argument to be flawed, even though I agree with it myself to be honest. And remember Wolverhampton have ploughed absolutely millions into this season and it would normally put them or any club into debt, but they know they will pee these debts away when they get at least one season in the despicable league.
