such a shame Wombwell Baths could not get this too

    I learned to swim in Wombwell baths - remember graduating from the little baths to the big pool - and the swimming lessons where we traipsed over from Kings Road and in to the baths at the back door
    My Dad used to swim there regularly until it was closed - now he doesnt go swimming anymore so sad

    No hope of any improvements to public leasure libraries etc for at least another 5 years and almost certainly a lot longer

    I taught misen t swim there int kiddies pool :D & everytime I smell carbolic soap I'm back to Wombwell baths.

    I get very upset about the Baths closing. The Council shut it down saying it would need £75000 every year to keep it open. The week after they spent £750000 on the Metrodome pools.

    had all my swim lessons at Wombwell and used to go with school too. Even had a few birthday parties there as well, shame to see it as it is now.
