Struggling

I've had chronic bronchitis since getting Covid at the Sheff Utd game in October. Still waiting for a GP appointment, If it isn't postponed again it will be next Tuesday.Well on the road to pneumonia, which has killed many of my relatives.

In the meantime 40% of my DJ bookings at the agency have been cancelled.

My mum is in her last fight with cancer.

**** everything. Mainly **** the useless ******* government we have. They are not to blame for everything, but know the way to Barnard Castle, or to throw a party, when we are not seeing our loved ones die, or be buried,

 

Try to keep strong, you've managed to before.

Been to see Smoove and Turrell toneet. Unbelieveably Chris Witty wasn't there.

 

First things first. If your chest is bad get yourself off to hospital or a walk in centre, don't piss abart waiting for a doctor's appointment. Covid and it's related illnesses are far easier fought off the earlier you get help.

I sincerely wish your mum all the best whatever that may mean for her and you personally.

40% ? Meh. That's nothing to someone like you. Think back 18 months. You got through that somehow and you'll get through this too.

The government? They don't even deserve the oxygen that they steal each and every day. People such as you have got infinitely more respect from me than that lot ever will.

I know it’s easy for me to say but stay strong. If your chest is bad dont piss about get yourself looked at. Work I know it feels **** but you’ve bounced back and can do again.

Sorry to hear this JP. There's so much wrong in the world today, but I'm past anger with it all. I really am, believe me.

First things first, get your chest looked at. As others have said, don't wait for the doctors - they'll probably just refer you to the hospital anyway. Get your self to A&E or a drop in centre somewhere.

Secondly, I hope your Mum is OK. My Dad was diagnosed with bowel and lung cancer over 2 years ago and he's still with us.

Definitely go and get looked at urgently before it turns into pneumonia and you end up in hospital. Things will pick up again but that's not much consolation now when folk are cancelling on you. Lastly I hope your mum's getting the care she needs, I'm sure you're a comfort to her. Keep sharing, we're all here to listen.

 

I went to A&E last week. Was told to drink a lot of water & rest. Told them I was coughing up sputum 6 hours a night & they said it would pass. As I'm not coughing up blood they said no point in a chest X Ray. I'd waited in A&E for 7 hours for that. Health service aren't interested at the moment in much other than covid. After 6 weeks of this routine I'm ******* tearing my hair out. It's 5 am & I've been coughing up since 11 last night. I'm not seeing my friends as i'm too shattered. Not going to the games because of my chest. Lost all interest in music. Will see if my doctor says owt different. He at least has my medical records re my hole & my heart as a kid, etc. Doing a couple of hours a day running my agency, but it's been all cancellations in the last week. ******* depressing.

 

If you're coughing up thick stuff all night it's probably a secondary bacterial infection, and they ought to give you some antibiotics at least

Can only Hope things improve for you JP, Both mentally and physically.( Most have said it all.) You’ve certainly had it worse than most, financially etc. But I sense a strength of character more than most. I’m no expert on certain issues but if you want to chat, be it to release boredom etc. pm those offering an ear including myself.

Maybe try a different or bigger hospital if you haven't had any joy with your usual one? Only problem is that late Friday and into the weekend ends up being a long waiting time for A&E. I once went in on a Friday afternoon and waited 13 hours for a bed and then wasnt seen till Monday because the consultants didn't work weekends.

 

Well it is panto season.

 

Hope you get better ASAP and things pick up work wise too . Shocking times for a lot of people at moment

 

I'm at the docs now, sending me for a chest x-ray to rule anything bad out but his gut feeling is I have a common cold. History of sinusitis, chest full of *****, 2 courses of pills done, and 7 weeks deep.
