Was the game called off because of the delay, or because everyone was traumatised by what they had just seen?

Probably both. It took quite a while to stabilize him and I think the air ambulance was there quite a while.

It wouldn't have been fair to make Burton play after what their players had seen.

What a day that will never be forgotten. First and foremost for what a tough ******* Steve is to not be beaten by a really serious situation. Also because of the amazing jobs the paramedics did, the fans being together as one in applauding the announcement to postpone the match and all the good that's gone on since that day such as how the Burton players and staff have been towards him.

Thank goodness he was at Oakwell and not at home when it happened .
It’s great in the knowledge that goodness forbid anything does happen while your at the match you’ll be well looked after .

Steve attended my son's end of season football team presentation evening, he seemed like he'd made a full recovery and was very grateful for all the well wishes.
My son's footage from the day it happened was used in the TV show aired today.

I must admit I feared the worst when the match got cancelled. Must have been so scary for his wife As to the other featured story, how ob earth did anyone escape death from that motorway pileup?

The great thing is, Steve taught myself and hundreds of others how to resuscitate injured people during his time with the RLSS. I have used this knowledge to help injured people, as I’m guessing many others also have. You may know someone who has been saved by someone taught by Steve. I’m so happy that someone was there to provide the help for Steve when he needed it.

Got around to finally watching it earlier tonight. At the time we knew it was serious, but hearing those closest to it talking about it, it was even more serious than that. Craig Sedgwick was articulate explaining what went on and even Nick Knowles seemed touched as the show went off air.

At the time that it happened, did anyone else feel strange about taking a photo of the helicopter?

I took one, I took a video in fact, but I felt bad about it. I felt like I shouldn’t be treating this as an amazing moment that needs capturing on camera.

    I don’t know.
