    Though this was about Cooperman.

I was Oakwell for the Chelsea game - that b'stard Graham Roberts inflicted a career ending injury on Gwyn Thomas, great shame, Thomas was brilliant for us.
I went to Stoke for the first game, a master class by David Currie, didn't make the replay, sadly.

I've given up trying to predict football clubs. it's perfectly possible that the person who just gave him a new deal, will sack him by Christmas if things don't improve, with an even bigger pay off. football club owners are off their heads

Dane Murphy looking after him before being sacked himself?

Looks like Dane took the Wheel of Inexplicable Decisions with him as well as the spreadsheets.

Right decision. They are in the best place they have been since the 90s and if they got shut someone else would snap him up quickly. Having spent so much money you have to give time for things to gel. I don't think they will be relegated personally.

The worst example of that I know is actually us. I believe it was Sheff Utd who attempted to lure Andy Ritchie away from us in the first few weeks of the new season after promotion. We gave it the old No Way Jose response then a few weeks later we sacked him. So instead of receiving financial compensation we were stuck with paying someone out. We went on to top that by telling Mark Robins we wouldn't be renewing his contract at the START of the season in which it ran out. Way to motivate your staff. Patrick Cryne holds a dear place in the hearts of lots of Barnsley fans and I dare say a lot of that is justified but some stuff was crazier than a box of frogs tied up in a bag of bats

I went to the first game at Stoke. We were in a crush at the turnstiles that scared the life out of me. If memory serves there was a similar incident back at our place with the Stoke supporters. Then came Hillsborough.

I didn't experience that at Stoke but I did in the exit tunnel from Millmoor at the end of the 4-2 win in 1981. I remember thinking how bad it would have been if there was a fire or something.

My then girlfriend was with me that day, her first football match. She never went with me again, she thoroughly enjoyed the game but that tunnel....
