Has us to win it and Wednesday to go down! https://www.sportinglife.com/football/news/championship-outright-preview/183832 I hope they're right...
What a stat this is... “Of the 50 youngest starting line-ups during the 2018/19 campaign, 45 of them belonged to Barnsley.”
I think this preview is a touch more realistic! https://www.infogol.net/en/blog/previews/efl-championship-2020-21-season-preview-192020
Why do you think that? They really improved after a poor start, I fancy them for at least top 6 this season.
Bet Victor fancy us for mid table https://blog.betvictor.com/en-gb/sports/football/championship/championship-season-preview-1-24/
Just don't think they'll do as well as everyone thinks - 10th place and lost almost as many as they won and lost 4 of last 5
These are saying we are a great bet for a top half finish. Lump on https://www.infogol.net/en/blog/previews/efl-championship-2020-21-season-preview-192020
Can't be having that, even at 50/1! I think Gerhard and the players did tremendously well in the circumstances, but I'd be more than happy with mid-table survival this season. I think of more interest is the top goalscorer market. I like Ivan Toney at 10/1 with Brentford's coaching staff behind him. With Watkins seemingly off to Villa, it looks as though the Bees are pinning their hopes on Ivan big-style. But I'd have to also be with the favourite Teemu Pukki at 8/1. He signed a new three year contract last summer, and he gained a respectable 11 goals in 36 Premier League appearances last season in a relegated side. But more saliently, two years ago he bagged 29 in 43 games in the Championship. I can see Norwich's stability as a club working for them and if so, Pukki will surely be among the goals again. I don't think Wednesday will get relegated. Monk has lost some of the dead wood at Hillsborough and surely Jordan Rhodes will return to form with more regular starts. They have Reach and Kachunga to provide for Rhodes and Windass, and Bannan is a warrior in midfield. His career has been a bit chequered since, but it's worth remembering what Monk did at Swansea earlier, and I think he'll achieve better than relegation despite the points deduction with a more tightly-knit squad to work with.
I suppose the thing with it being a generous 50-1 is you can place a bet on Barnsley winning the league, say 20 quid. Then, come mid season when they may well be mid to top half and the odds have inevitably shortened, lay off the potential gains (1000 quid) against them winning. This way you can win even if Barnsley don't win the league, which lets face it isn't likely. Easier said than done though.
