I received my tax code notification from HMRC this morning. The personal tax allowance is going up by £70 (worth £14 in ones pocket for a standard rate income tax payer).

I’m guessing that’s based on the CPI (circa 0.6%) for the last 12months. As was said would happen at the last increase. That’s why it has increased already. B4 the next budget.
That’s why it’s better for us to look at RPI. When wage negotiations begin. RPI being the bigger figure in general. As this year running around 1.2%.
CPI suits business and government better. Crafty gets.

 

He’ll get that back ten fold by underfunding of high dependency councils from industrial areas who in turn will have to up council taxes to care for heavy industry casualties which his Surrey set won’t have to bother about .

 

Don’t hold your breath he will tax the rich , his mate took a whopping pay cheque last year and Starmer ,also bought and paid for by the hedge funders , won’t say a cracker .
